Servings: 3

Level: Easy

Ingredients:

  • 1 medium onion
  • 12 oz thinly sliced beef (350g) – I actually used like .9 pounds of brisket

  • 4 tblspoons soy sauce
  • 3 tblspoons sugar
  • 2 tblspoons sake
  • 1 tspoon ginger, grated
  • 2 bags of jasmine rice (from Trader Joe’s)
  • Optional – 3 eggs

Directions:

  • Slice onion thinly
  • Boil Dashi stock in a pot and add the sliced onion, cook for like 4 min
  • Add soy sauce, sugar, ginger, and sake and cook for about another 4 min
  • Add beef in pot and stir
  • (Optional) Stir in 3 eggs
  • Pour meat and sauce over rice

Comments:

  • Poached egg on the side also works well too
